In 2020, the residents of Broward County, Florida voted to establish an independent tax collector’s office, a historic change in local government. Abbey Ajayi was elected as the county’s first-ever tax collector, charged with building a brand-new institution from the ground up. Rather than following the traditional, bureaucratic look of government agencies, Abbey sought a bold, modern brand that would stand out while still conveying trust, efficiency, and accessibility.
The mission for my team at GRIP.D was to craft a distinct, eye-catching identity that reflected South Florida’s vibrancy while maintaining the professionalism expected of a government office. This meant creating a unique logo, brand identity, branded assets, and a full website that balanced approachability with credibility. Since the initial development of the brand identity, we have continued to work with Abbey's office on various marketing & graphic design needs.
